AGM An Annual General Meeting is a rulebook requirement of each branch, but that doesn't mean it has to be dull and boring. We're spicing ours up with free food and drink, promotional giveaways, a prize draw, representatives from partnership providers, and a few guest speakers (details to be confirmed). Of particular note will be the launch of our fabulous Lealta benefit card (see www.unison-csh.org.uk/lealta ). Whilst we do have to spend just a little time on things like elections and rule changes, for the most part we will be doing our utmost to ensure that members have a fun, interesting and informative hour or two. Even if you can only spare a few minutes, your more than welcome to pop in. The event will take place on Tuesday 9th March from 5pm in the Euan Keats Postgraduate Education Centre at the Princess Royal Hospital, Haywards Heath. The meeting itself will commence at 6pm, but from 5 pm there will be a hot buffet available, with wine and soft drinks. All members are warmly invited to this. Information will be available on a range of membership benefits, and representatives from our partnership providers always afford a warm and friendly welcome, as well as lots of special offers and goodies galore. Plans are still being finalised but watch this space for details of guest speakers. This year we will also have some fine prizes up for grabs in our raffle, with all proceeds going to UNISON Welfare, UNISON's registered charity (see www.unison.org.uk/welfare ). Tickets will only cost £1 and the branch pledges to double anything members contribute, and make up the total to the nearest £100. Prizes include:-
The branch is keen that all members should be able to attend the AGM. Non-members are welcome to attend for the buffet and meeting, but will not be eligible to vote.
To assist the branch in making arrangements for the AGM, we would appreciate if members could indicate if they will be attending by filling in the on-line registration form.
Nominations are sought for a wide variety of roles and positions within the branch. All members are encouraged to consider taking a more active part in the branch. Details of positions available and brief descriptions can be found here.
Members can submit motions to the AGM, and all such submissions will be considered by the Chair for inclusion on the agenda.
Submission of an Amendment to Rule Members can submit amendments to rule to the AGM, and all such submissions will be considered by the Chair for inclusion on the agenda.
