Welfare
We are
aware of the pressures UNISON members face on a daily basis and can
provide support at times of unforeseen financial hardship or personal
difficulty such as redundancy, bereavement, illness or relationship
breakdown.
We support
members in a variety of ways mainly through confidential advice and
financial assistance in the form of grants. For example we can help with
sorting out finances, advise on benefits or put members in touch with
another organisation that can help.
Welfare
advice is provided by the Central Sussex Hospitals Branch's own Welfare
Officer, Marilyn Saward. All enquires are handled in complete confidence
and with sensitivity.
Find out
more about how Marilyn can help members by visiting the Welfare section
of this site, or e-mail her on

3rd November March and Rally
Mid Sussex hospital campaigns will be taking
their fight to London on the 3rd November 2007 by joining the
march and rally organised by NHS Together.
This national NHS demonstration will consist of a march from
Embankment, past the Houses of Parliament, finishing in Trafalgar Square, where
there will be a rally with speakers, music and entertainment. The event
promises to be a fun day out, focusing on celebrating the achievements of the
NHS but at the same time sending a clear message to the government that we will
not accept the undermining of our health service that is currently taking place
- and for Mid Sussex residents that message will emphasise that "Fit for the
Future" is fit for nothing. The PRH MUST retain full A&E and
consultant led maternity services and hospital cuts are not acceptable.
To assist local campaigners to get to the rally UNISON has laid
on a free coach from Haywards Heath, departing from outside the PRH at 9am.
Return transport will also be supplied. The full timetable is as follows:-
9am: Coach departs from outside the PRH
(bus layby in Lewes Road)
11am: Assemble at
Temple Place, Victoria Embankment, London
Noon: March through
Westminster
1pm: Rally in Trafalgar
Square
1:30 - 4:30pm: Speakers and
entertainment in the Square
5pm: Coach departs for
return journey to Haywards Heath
Seats on the coach are free, but we do ask
that individuals register in advance to assist with planning, using the form
below. Details of coaches from other areas are available
here

Rally, including route map and posters, see
